Exhibition: "Voices From the Wound: Palestinian Women and the Memory of Gaza"
This initiative aims to give visibility to Palestinian women writers, both in Gaza and in the diaspora, who have transformed writing into a tool for memory, denunciation, and resistance against the genocide their people are experiencing.
Time & Location
04 May 2026, 10:30 – 04 Jun 2026, 17:00
Universidad de Almería, Edificio Departamental Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educacion II (Edif. C)
About the event
This exhibition presents various Palestinian women writers through visual panels including the following information:
• A photograph and brief biography
• Place and date of birth, and current residence
• Excerpts from their work and significant quotes about Palestine
• References to relevant publications related to identity
• Palestine and the situation in Gaza
In order to foster critical and creative dialogue, the space will include a ballot box and sheets of paper for students to submit questions for the authors featured in the exhibition.
Questions may address topics such as:
• Their writing process
• Palestinian identity in literature
• Their life experience in Gaza (in the case of authors who reside there)
• The role of literature in contexts of violence and resistance
Subsequently, the best questions will be selected to be posed to Palestinian writers through an online interview (or by email, depending on availability).
The resulting interview will be shared and published on the PANDORA Literary Gender Studies Instagram account, giving visibility to both the authors' work and the concerns of the participating students.
